Why I wrote it
For years I believed my drinking affected only me. I could not see how much fear, uncertainty, and silence it brought into my family’s life. This is not a heroic recovery story or a quick formula. It is an honest account of denial, physical collapse, and the moment when looking away was no longer possible.
What the book explores
- the inner logic and self-deception of addiction;
- the physical reality of repeated medical crises and delirium;
- the cycle of promises and disappointment;
- the invisible burden carried by family members;
- the first decisions of sobriety and the slow rebuilding of trust.
A personal companion to the workbook
The book shows from the inside what the workbook explores from the family member’s point of view. It deepens the larger 621 SOBER story, but it is not required to use the workbook.
